March 2009 In Review
March 2009 was no different from March 2008 – HECTIC!
Without consecutive off-days to rest up, March only allowed me breaks on the 1st, 8th and 30th days of that month. I am exhausted, aching and my neck is killing me … has been killing me for a week now. Damned thing is so tight it feels like a solid wall.
On 11 March, WAT Batch 27 started with another batch of super-energized students who have been milking me for everything I’ve got … and it’s only been three lessons since!
The weekend of 14 to 16 March saw the completion of the 5th WAT Jakarta Batch. And what a batch it was. Almost lost my voice on the last day but it was really fun and the class energy was nothing short of great. It was the only thing that kept me going on a sore throat.
The following weekend in Kuala Lumpur was another outstanding session with the hungriest batch of students I’ve ever had. Between the 21 and 23 March, about 30 students from WATMY07 had a whale of a time with some of them discovering everything they had been doing wrong while others were learning what to do right from the mistakes that others had made. It was a really wonderuful time of sharing and learning.
On 25th March, WAT Batch 26 graduated after 7 weeks of mind crunching lessons but looking hungry as ever to get started on their paper trades.
Between the tutorials, I met up with David Caploe for one of the most invigorating conversations I’ve had in a long time. His views on the market and global economy are really astounding (for an academic!) and it really fed me with a lot of ideas. I am so looking forward to another round of drinks with the man.
And while I was in Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday night, G.M. Teoh, futures broker with CIMB and financial columnist for The Star, took me for dinner and a night out in K.L. This was another wonderful exchange which, once again, fed me with more ideas. Now I am looking forward to a collaboration with him for future projects in K.L.
Then to cap off a really active month, the weekend of 26 to 29 March, Wealth Academy graduated its 16th batch. This was really a stretch for me by now … the neck was so tight that it was slowing the flow of blood to my head and at several times during the workshop, I actually found it hard to breathe, felt light-headed and faint. Thank goodness for Devan, a really good friend in a time of need – those hands are truly a heaven-sent!
I really need a break. And now.
Now that all this is done and March is behind me, I can now look forward to a little peace. It has been very quiet on this blog but I’ll be back to posting again. I’ll do up a market piece tomorrow because things are starting to look downright interesting as we head into the end of Q1 and start another earnings season next week! Be sure to come back tomorrow and check out my Quarter 2 Preview and Quarter 1 In Review.
Til then trade safely and happy hunting always!
