TA Masterclass & This Week In Review
WHAT A BLAST!
I couldn’t think of a better way to start this posting. For two days over this past weekend on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 February 2009, more than 85 people attend my very first Technical Analysis Masterclass. This was by far, the most enriching experience in my teaching career so far. Rather than the usual I-teach-you-learn workshop, it was nice to get out on stage to talk about what I do as a trader and not be restricted with the by-the-book teachings that my students have come to be familiar with. In fact, some of my students were surprised that I had this many tricks up my sleeve and so many more ways in using TA to overcome psychological failings in trading. It was a thrill to be able to share some of my unorthodox techniques and applications, free of the politically-correct teachings I am normally bound to. Best of all, the feedback from those who attended has been nothing short of flattering.

To all who attended, thank you for making this event a memorable one and thank you for all your kind words. I do look forward to the next Masterclass. Having said that, it’s going to be hard to top what I did at the TA Masterclass … I have really set myself up by setting the expectation bar so high on my first jump!
But I am looking forward to the challenge!
For those who wanted to attend but couldn’t, I am sorry to say that the next TA Masterclass won’t be until the second half of this year. So you’ve got a long wait before that happens. Here’s the good news … for those who want to catch up on what they missed, my guys at PatternTraderTools.com are now working on the video clips from the February TA Masterclass which will soon be available for downloading. (Of course its not free! … duh!)
It was also great to be able to share with such a great bunch of people that my book, “Secret Psychology of Millionaire Traders” was the #2 bestselling book at Popular this week and that “Profit From The Panic” was #1 at Borders. On the dimmer side, “Profit” dipped from #3 last week to #6 this week on the Sunday Times Bestsellers List. Well, you can’t win them all.
This weekend also marked the completion and final phase of the production of my “Breakout Patterns Quick Reference Cards“. The cards go into printing this week and should be available by the end of this month.
Another milestone this week is the 16th year of my marriage to Lucy and our 20th year together which fell on 8th Feb. It has been one helluva ride but it was all for good reason because everything we’ve done in our past has led us to this point in our happy lives. And it only keeps getting better!
But the most wonderful memory I will take from this weekend is holding an audience captive for two days for a total of 15 lecture hours without having them demand a break, fall asleep or want to leave early. Instead, I had them in their seats, on their feet, glued to my every word, listening, asking, learning and most of all, having buckets loads of fun! I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Now its back to the grind and another week of trading, classes, traveling and more writing. What a life … and I’m loving every minute of it!
